Located in Jumeirah, near Kite Beach the existing plot benefits from views towards the long stretch of beach shoreline. Inspired by local landscapes found in the U.A.E – Non created an Architecture & Interior Design that is a reflection of the formation of natural shelters and caverns that you find in mountains and the terrain that is formed by the sweeping desert. The context perfectly lent itself to a Casa style home utilising natural materials and a design to make use of its surroundings.

Our approach was to design from the inside-out; focusing on creating comfortable and atmospheric interior spaces carved out of a large block of mass. This sculptural exercise resulted in creating curated openings that provide natural light, scenic circulation around a central interior courtyard, and the organisation of the client’s program according to a hosting and private zone of the Casa.

The central courtyard, an arid desert garden, organizes the Casa’s circulation and delineates the ground floor into two spaces; a living/hosting area complete with a sculptural open pantry and an intimate dining area. Offset from this is an art studio submerged in the exterior L-shaped pool that wraps around the building. The art studio becomes a place of serenity with a sense of separation from the main Casa.
The wrapping of the pool and the strategically placed windows, allows for views of the water and garden into the different areas of the living space to feel enmeshed with nature, uniting the inside and outside.
The other side being the more private area of the ground floor contains two bedrooms, each including a dressing room and an ensuite, utility spaces for household functioning, and the vertical connection to the first floor by a lift wrapped in the stone clad staircase allowing for views outside.

On the first floor two large master bedrooms sit above the private side of the Casa, accessible from the corridor that over looks the rooftop terrace & courtyard on the Ground floor. The bedrooms have direct access to the rooftop terrace where the inhabitant can enjoy private lounging time under the shade from pergolas with direct views across Jumeirah.
